The purpose of this study is to investigate the perceptions and attitudes of EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teachers towards humor used in the language classroom. The data were collected from 56 participants answering a questionnaire of 38 questions (Appendix 1). The quantitative data were analyzed through IBM SPSS statistical program followed by the qualitative analysis and then merged.. The findings indicated that humor can be used as a useful pedagogical tool in the classroom which can release tension, increase retention, make the lesson more interesting, motivate L2 (second language) learners and create a better rapport with the teacher as long as it is used appropriately not to embarrass or insult students.
