The passport to your undergraduate and postgraduate studies

Course content

Preparation for the demands of your academic programme (Foundation, Pre-sessional, Pre-Masters, Pre-Doctoral) that will help you to revise and develop your:

  • Academic reading strategies and skills

  • Academic vocabulary

  • Academic writing macro and micro skills

  • Lectures and Note-taking strategies

  • Speaking for Academic purposes (lectures, seminars, oral presentations)

  • Reference / research skills

  • Examinations skills

  • Learning strategies (independent learning, pair/team work, critical thinking)

You will study in classes of up to a maximum of 14 students and be taught by experienced, qualified academic English tutors.

You will have:

  • An average of 18 contact hours on a weekly basis

  • An average of 20 independent study on a weekly basis

  • 1-2 tutorials each week with your academic supervisor

Length of course

The length of course you need depends on your existing IELTS score and on the IELTS score you need for your university degree.  For example, a student with an IELTS 4.5-5.0 score will need to attend a 10-week course while a student with an IELTS 5.5-6.0 score will need to attend an 8-week course.

At the end of each course all students will take an IELTS UKVI test.
IELTS for UKVI exams will be organised by the British Council in Athens, Greece
